About Me

My name is Cassie Logan and I am nine years old. I am the only female child and I live with my three brothers, my mother and Big Ma. Little Man is the smallest one in the family with only six years old, Christopher-John, the second smallest is eight years old, and Stacey who is the oldest brother, has twelve. My father does not live with us anymore because he spends most of his time working very hard on the railroad. He sent his friend, Mr. Morrison to take care of us while he is away. Since all his family got killed and he was fired because he got in a fight with some white men it was good for him to get company as well. I wished my father was the one living here with us instead of Mr. Morrison, because I miss him so much and I know he misses me too, I can feel it. I was born from a black family, the Logans, and this is why everyone treats me differently, differently from White people, which is something I do not quite understand yet. The life of any adult or black child is very difficult these days. From what I have seen on my nine years of experience, we are treated badly and inferior compared to White people, and it should not be that way. For example, all White children have the opportunity to go to school by bus, however me and my brothers, since we are Black, need to go walking every single day to school on a journey of six hours per day, to go and come back. Yet, my mother always tells me “ … nobody, no matter what color, is better than anybody else”. This line is what makes me reflect everyday, which keeps me imagining that someday, people will notice that no one is different and all the suffering will end when you less expect. Even with all this happening in my life I can say that I am a really happy person because not everyone has a family you can count on, and that is always there to support you. I am lucky to be one of those few people, and I surely believe that if our family relationship continues this way, we will continue to go go through all the hardest moments united. I decided to create this blog to tell you a little bit about my experiences throughout life, so you can understand the life of a Black girl. I am willing to share my thoughts, feelings, interests and anything that is going on in my head. Hope you enjoy reading my blog :)

My music interests:

You must think that because of the life I live in, I do not really listen to music, but you are completely wrong. I strongly enjoy positive music because it transmits good energy, which calms me since I am a very short-tempered person. Here are some of the songs I really enjoy listening:
